We organize training and events related to the Sea and the Oceans
Confirmation of booking will be provided upon receipt of a completed booking form and receipt of a 50% non-refundable deposit. The booking deposit is 50% of the course fees. If a booking is made within one month of the course commencement date, the full course fees are payable upon booking. Course fees must be paid in full prior to course commencement – can be Day 1 in cash or 3 days before day 1 in case of bank transference or PayPal.
Payment can be made with EasyPay, MasterCard, Visa, Multibanco, Paypal, bank transference or cash.
Bank transfers must be sent in euro currency and bank charges are for the account of the student/client.
A payment advice note will be issued upon booking. An invoice will be issued upon full payment.
Client has 24 hours to do the payment (deposit) after email confirmation. After 24 hours period Algarve Cruising Center reserves the right to accept another booking without prior notice.
CANCELLATION BY THE CUSTOMER
CANCELLATION BY ALGARVE CRUISING CENTER
Any booking fees you have paid, including your deposit, will be refunded in full. No liability shall be attached to Algarve Cruising Center beyond refunding the fee paid for the cancelled charter/trip or unused portion if the trip has been started. No payments shall be made for incidental costs. As above, we recommend you take holiday cancellation or personal travel insurance.
We charge a fee of 100€ for theory re-examination and 200€ for practical re-examination.
Algarve Cruising Center shall not be responsible for any unused air tickets or unused portions of air tickets or unused services of any kind.
DELAY OR FAILURE TO ARRIVE
If a student is likely to be delayed beyond the start time of the course, Algarve Cruising Center must be informed as soon as possible. It is at the discretion of the school principal if the fees paid can be transferred to a future course. If a student fails to arrive, for any reason whatsoever including illness, and Algarve Cruising Center has not been notified, the course fees will be forfeit.

We ask you to inform Algarve Cruising Center upon booking of any health issues that may affect your suitability for participating in a sailing trip. If you are taking medicine you should inform the captain your health condition.
For all the practical IYT courses you will need a medical check and declaration.
No liability is accepted for participators personal possessions left in Algarve Cruising Center premises; this includes on the marina and onboard vessels used by Algarve Cruising Center. No liability is accepted for customers whilst in, or on, any Algarve Cruising Center property or property used by Algarve Cruising Center or whilst embarking or disembarking any vessel used by Algarve Cruising Center. All customers take part in any trip at their own risk. The act of signing for a trips/charter implies that the customer has understood and accepted the terms and conditions of Algarve Cruising Center herein, including the risk disclaimer above and liability as explained in this document.
Itinerary can be changed according to the weather forecast.
Algarve Cruising Center shall not be liable for any expenses incurred due to Force Majeure, including, weather conditions, strikes, and acts of Government, war or any other occurrence beyond our control.
During our organized trips (Mile Building, Expeditions) basic provisions are provided for meals during hours onboard. Meals and drinks onshore are not included. Provisioning is not included during private charter or own boat tuition.
Algarve Cruising Center shall not be liable for any accidents that occur whilst a client is under the influence of alcohol. The consumption of alcohol is not permitted whilst underway.
Smoking is not permitted in any interior space on board any vessel or in any building used by Algarve Cruising Center. Please respect the Center rule that no cigarette butts be thrown into the sea.
Recreational drugs of any kind are strictly forbidden onboard any vessel or in any property used by Algarve Cruising Center. If found, or suspected, the customer will immediately leave the vessel and no monies will be refunded, nor any additional travel expenses reimbursed.
Algarve Cruising Center uses vessels that are well maintained, however, if breakages or mechanical failures occur we ask for your patience and understanding that this can be part of boating. Every effort will be made to ensure the vessel is repaired at the earliest opportunity. If this is not possible, an alternative vessel will be made available. Algarve Cruising Center shall not be held responsible for any time the customer feels has been lost, whilst every attempt is made to address any problems that may occur.
Private course vessels should have equipment and documents up to date 1 week before the course starts.
You must accept responsibility for the proper conduct of yourself and any members of your party. We reserve the right in our absolute discretion to terminate without further notice the course arrangements of any client who refuses to comply with the instructions or orders of the skipper or ACC staff members or whose behaviour or competence in their opinion is likely to cause distress, danger or annoyance to their crew, other customers, staff any third party or property.
If irresponsible or negligent behaviour of a costumer leads to damage or loss of any item or boat property, the costumer is responsible for replacement or repair. Costumers are requested to act with a duty of care and respect for Algarve Cruising Center property and the vessel. Damages and breakages, howsoever caused, must immediately be notified to the skipper/Algarve Cruising Center.
Notice of any complaint should be made to your skipper at the time of the complaint arising. If the complaint cannot be resolved onboard, then the complaint should be made in writing to the responsible of Algarve Cruising Center and will be dealt with as a matter of importance.
Mooring fees away from the vessel’s home berth and/or planned trips are a shared responsibility of the crew and are to be paid locally. Organized trips have all the marine fees included – skipper decides which marina to use.
An administrative fee may be applied in case of: creating profile on IYT website, send books or other material by mail, course cancelation, invoice changing or cancelation, post lost/forgotten material/equipment by mail.
It is strongly advised for costumers to obtain their own insurance for sickness, illness, loss of trip fees, loss of personal effects, breakages or damages to the boat, cancellation or curtailment, travel disruption or delay, accident onboard or any other reason the student considers appropriate for their activity and well-being.
It is according to Portuguese and Spanish law that photographic identification is to be carried by all persons at all times.
Whilst the Center carries full public liability insurance you should satisfy yourself that you are covered for personal injury and cancellation.
PHOTOGRAPHS USED IN PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
You agree that any photographs taken during training, that may feature you, can be used by Algarve Cruising Center for promotional purposes. Photographs will never be taken of minors.
Under 18’s accepted when sailing with parent or guardian. All booking forms for under 18’s to be signed by parent or guardian, stating this fact after the signature.
Any dispute should be brought to the attention of the skipper at the earliest opportunity to be resolved. In the event of a dispute not being settled by mutual agreement, it is agreed that this agreement (contract) shall be governed by the laws of Portugal and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Faro. It is further agreed that all agreements between customers, clients and students and staff of Algarve Cruising Center shall be governed by Portuguese Law, even when the dispute occurs outside Portuguese territorial waters.
