Our powerboat licence is officially recognised and valid in Portugal. Now there is no need to issue the ICC (International Certificate of Competency), since from 1 January 2022, the powerboat licence by itself is enough in Portuguese waters, regarding the documents that you must carry when you are skippering your vessel.
We remember you that the Law Decree 93/2018, article 39 nº5, says: “In the case foreseen in nº3, DGRM must issue the declaration of recognition within a period of time of five days, having no need to issue the corresponding Portuguese licence”.
Our Powerboat course has a duration of 50H / 18 hours autonomous preparation + 4 days of presential course
The IYT Small Powerboat & Rib Master certification has the following limitation
- Handling a vessel up to 15 meters length;
- Up to 20 miles from shore
- Day and night (if ICC is issued)
This course has a module of night sailing, making our school the only school in Portugal doing the practical teaching of night sailing considering equivalent levels at others school like: Patrão Local (DGRM) and Powerboat 2 (RYA).
